National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted to evaluate the eligibility for the post of Assistant Professor and for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).
The exam pattern is designed to test the candidates through two papers; Paper I and Paper II. The first paper is a general paper which includes Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) on teaching and research aptitude. The second paper is subject based.
This post focuses on Paper I – General Paper on Teaching and Research Aptitude. It is mainly designed to assess the teaching skills, research ability and general awareness of the candidate. It consists of 50 questions of 2 marks each. All questions are compulsory and need to be completed in 60 minutes.
Recent Update: In a press conference held recently, the HRD (Human Resource Development) Ministry announced that the newly formed National Testing Agency would conduct its first examination, UGN NET 2018, in December. Earlier, the exam was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The exam will also be going ONLINE from the December session. However, there will be no change in the syllabus for the exam.
